DESCRIPTION:Christian Science Talk\n“BE SET FREE”\nby Nicole Virgil\, C.S.\nSunday\, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m.\nColumbus Public Library\, 3000 Macon Road\, Columbus \n  \nNicole Virgil\, practitioner of Christian Science healing and public speaker\, will present her talk\, “Be set free\,” on Sunday\, December 3 at 2 p.m. in the Columbus Public Library at 3000 Macon Road. \nThe talk will focus on universal healing precepts found in the Holy Bible\, especially in Christ Jesus’ life and teachings\, showing how they are available for anyone to understand and experience through the lens of Christian Science. The talk is free\, open to the community\, and sponsored by First Church of Christ\, Scientist in Columbus. \n“Circumstances often present what appear to be significant obstacles to living freely\, something that everyone wants to do\,” Ms. Virgil says. “In this talk\, we will examine liberty from a Biblical perspective; and see how real people today find their freedom from all kinds of physical\, emotional and circumstantial restrictions that seem clearly beyond their control.” \nSharing examples of healing from her own life and professional practice of Christian Science\, Ms. Virgil will explain why Christian Science is both Christian and scientific\, meaning that people can prove its effectiveness for themselves\, as fully described in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures\, written by the founder of the Christian Science movement\, Mary Baker Eddy. \nMs. Virgil will also touch on the life of Mary Baker Eddy\, who came to understand\, confirm\, and teach what she felt was original Christian healing. Eddy herself said she was especially inspired by Jesus’ demand\, “He that believes on me\, the works that I do will he do also; and greater works than these will he do\, because I go unto my Father” (found in the Gospel of John 14:12 in the Bible). \nFor over 150 years\, people around the world have worked to follow Christ Jesus in this practice of Christianity and continue to do so today\, experiencing healings of physical ills and personal difficulties. \nNicole Virgil has been a Christian Science practitioner for many years\, helping people on a daily basis through this scientific approach to prayer.  She travels from her home base near Chicago\, Illinois\, to speak to audiences as a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

DESCRIPTION:First Church\, Atlanta is very happy to invite each of your members and regular attendees in the Atlanta area to an Effulgence Films presentation on Paul Stark Seeley.  “Effulgence Films is an independent Historical institution dedicated to the preservation of the history of the early workers in Christian Science.” \nWe are excited to say the film will be shown at the Tara Theater on Cheshire Bridge (2345 Cheshire Bridge Rd\, Atlanta\, 30324) on Sunday\, September 24th and the timeline of starting is below. \nViewing of the film is FREE and the concession stand will be open for purchase of items just like a regular movie.  The doors are opening early so that everyone will have time to get into the theater and get seated before the pre-film slide show starts.
